Active ingredients

Selamectin 15 mg, 45 mg, or 60 mg.

Indications for use

Senergy is recommended for use in cats eight weeks of age and older for the following parasites and indications:

Senergy kills adult fleas and prevents flea eggs from hatching for one month and is indicated for the prevention and control of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis), prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and the treatment and control of ear mite (Otodectes cynotis) infestations. Senergy is also indicated for the treatment and control of roundworm (Toxocara cati) and intestinal hookworm (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) infections in cats.

Administration and dosage

The recommended minimum dose is 2.7 mg selamectin per pound (6 mg/kg) of body weight. Administer the entire contents of a single dose tube of Senergy topically in accordance with the following:

Up to 5 Pounds: Mauve (15 mg selamectin in each 0.25 mL tube)
5.1 to 15 Pounds: Blue (45 mg selamectin in each 0.75 mL tube)
15.1 to 22 Pounds: Taupe (60 mg selamectin in each 1 mL tube)
For cats over 22 lbs use the appropriate combination of tubes.

Directions for Use:
  1. Remove the applicator tube from the package.
  2. Hold the applicator tube upright. The expiration date and the lot number (printed at the bottom of the tube) should be visible.
  3. Bend the tip of the applicator backward to snap it off.
  4. Part the cat's hair along his or her back. Application should take place at the base of the neck and in front of the shoulder blades. Your cat's skin should be visible and accessible.
  5. Place the applicator tip against the cat's skin. Squeeze the applicator tube 3 or 4 times, dispensing the complete contents on the skin in one spot.
  6. Keeping the tube squeezed, drag the applicator tube away and lift to remove it from the skin.
  7. Inspect the applicator tube to verify that all contents have been dispensed.
Take care:
  • Not to apply to broken skin (because of the alcohol content of the product)
  • Not to massage into the skin
  • To wait 24 hours to shampoo or bathe the pet
  • Not to apply to a wet coat
  • To dispose of the empty tube properly (in your regular household garbage)
  • To avoid contact with your own skin

Hair clumping, powdery residue, hair stiffness, or hair discoloration may be seen at the site of application. These signs are not concerning, temporary, and completely normal.
