TruProfen is a flavored tablet for dogs prescribed for the relief of pain and inflammation. One tablet provides 24-hour pain relief and can be used for arthritis, joint pain, osteoarthritis, or other forms of joint deterioration in dogs. It can also be used for post-operative pain, inflammation, swelling after spaying and neutering, or to reduce fever. TruProfen contains Carprofen, a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory medication that works by inhibiting the hormones (prostaglandins), which generate chemical reactions in the body that are responsible for pain, fever, and inflammation. Prostaglandins are hormone-like lipids that are part of the body’s natural defense mechanism, but an excessive prostaglandin production can cause chronic problems with pain. TruProfen is available in three different doses (25,75, and 100 mg) to ensure proper treatment, depending on your dog’s weight.

Inactive ingredients: Cellulose Microcrystalline, Croscarmellose Sodium, Magnesium Stearate, FD&C Yellow NO. 6, Stearic Acid.

Indications for use

Truprofen Flavored Tab is indicated for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis and for the control of postoperative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries in dogs.

Administration and dosage

Use as directed by your Veterinarian. They will tell you what amount of TruProfen (carprofen) is right for your dog and for how long it should be given.

Use the lowest effective dose of carprofen for the shortest duration consistent with individual response. The recommended dosage for oral administration to dogs is 2 mg/lb (4.4 mg/kg) of body weight daily. The total daily dose may be administered as 2 mg/lb of body weight once daily or divided and administered as 1 mg/lb (2.2 mg/kg) twice daily. For the control of postoperative pain, administer approximately 2 hours before the procedure.
