So if your dog is constantly shaking his head, scratching, and rubbing his ears, and if you notice discharge, redness, swelling, or odor, he may have an itchy and painful ear infection (otitis externa). Otitis externa can also be caused by allergies, ear mites, growing hair, trapped water, or a foreign body inside the ear. Frequent bathing, swimming, and incorrect cleaning can also be part of the problem.

Claro makes treating ear infections (also known as otitis externa) in dogs easy. It features the only FDA-approved, veterinarian-administered, single-dose treatment regimen for canine otitis externa. It is administered by your veterinarian, so no messy home treatments are required.

Claro Otic Solution for dogs is indicated for the treatment of otitis externa associated with susceptible strains of yeast (Malassezia pachydermatis) and bacteria (Staphylococcus pseudintermedius).

Claro features three active ingredients:

• Florfenicol: an antibacterial (antibiotic) that fights harmful bacteria.
• Terbinafine: an anti-fungal that fights certain strains of yeast.
• Mometasone Furoate: an anti-inflammatory steroid that reduces swelling and associated discomfort and itching.

Claro solution is supplied in a single-use dropperette in a blister.

Active ingredients

Claro contains 16.6 mg/mL florfenicol, 14.8 mg/mL terbinafine (equivalent to 16.6 mg/mL terbinafine hydrochloride) and 2.2 mg/mL mometasone furoate.

Inactive ingredients: purified water, propylene carbonate, propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol, and polyethylene glycol.

Indications for use

Claro Otic Solution for dogs is indicated for the treatment of otitis externa associated with susceptible strains of yeast (Malassezia pachydermatis) and bacteria (Staphylococcus pseudintermedius).

Administration and dosage

Shake before use.

Claro should be administered by veterinary personnel.

Administer one dose (1 dropperette) per affected ear. The duration of effect should last 30 days.
